So here it is — this is what happens when you give a couple of horror dudes some iPhones and various other video capturing devices, send them on their way for a few hours and have them return to edit their offerings into a full length film. V/H/S, the latest addition to the found footage genre, is a horror anthology with a handful of stories, all by different directors, all shot at different times. That said, I was expecting to watch Jackass, and I did for the first few minutes. It all happened one night at the age of 6 while sneaking down the stairs for a glass of water. I found my mother watching Creepshow. I paused to let the intrigue take over, grinning the entire time [much like our friend above] - tightly gripping the rail, watching each story unfold, letting the delight take over.

Embracing this passion, I studied special effects makeup and film, and went on to produce digital content about the horror genre for various outlets including PBS and horror-movies.ca. I have turned my love into a full-time passion, part-time hobby, and all the time pleasure.

“For me scoring is all improvisational. After the movie is cut, I synch my synthesizer to the cut footage and just start playing. Mostly I play all the parts. Sometimes I get a line based on a sound I hear driving to work. Sometimes the tempo of the temp music track inspires me. Did you know that Director Tobe Hooper lobbied for an MPAA PG-rating for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre? Rightfully so. The film had NO sex or sexual situations, NO drug use, NO hard profanity, and a low level of graphic violence. Despite fitting the MPAA PG-criteria, the film received an R-rating due to its intense tone.
